Restore eroded shorelines with a cost-effective, environmentally friendly solution
Shoreline erosion is a serious issue across Florida’s coastal and inland communities. Whether caused by storms, tides, wind, irrigation, or even rainwater runoff, erosion can quickly damage property value and waterfront usability.
At Florida Shoreline and Foundation, we offer shoreline restoration using geotextile tubes, a cost-effective, low-impact method to stabilize, rebuild, and protect vulnerable shorelines.

How Geotextile Tube Restoration Works
This process is designed to restore and reinforce the shoreline using natural materials already present in the waterway. It starts with a small hydraulic dredge that pumps sand and silt from the lake or water body directly into geotextile tubes placed along the shoreline.
These tubes are made from UV-protected, non-woven polypropylene fabric. As they fill, the tubes retain solid materials while allowing water to pass through. Once the shoreline is regraded and sod is laid, the sod roots grow directly into the tubes, anchoring the shoreline in place for years to come.
This approach avoids the need for heavy machinery on your property and creates a clean, natural-looking shoreline.
Benefits of Geotextile Tube Restoration
- Helps prevent future shoreline erosion
- Filters water runoff before it enters lakes or waterways
- Deepens adjacent lakebeds or canals to support drainage compliance
- Beautifies and levels the shoreline
- Expands usable land near the waterline
- Protects property values
- No large equipment required on land
Where This Method Works Best
We recommend geotextile shoreline restoration for properties and communities with eroding grass shorelines.
Florida Shoreline's typical customer for shoreline restoration lives on a creek or pond, where vinyl seawalls and rock shorelines are not the standard.
- Lakefront or canal edges are sloping or receding
- Yard space has been lost to erosion
- Traditional seawall installation is not ideal due to budget or aesthetics
- Local permitting requires softer or lower-impact solutions
