At the One Palm project in downtown Sarasota, Kellogg & Kimsey General Contractors are building a new three story addition on top of an existing parking garage. Florida Shoreline & Foundation Experts was hired to help design and install a deep foundation plan to augment the existing foundation element of the parking garage. 

The new pilings were needed to compensate for the new load of the 3 story addition. Florida Shoreline & Foundation accomplished this by 6 installing Atlas® resistance piles to the underside of the existing pile cap which were 8’ below the surface of the parking garage. The resistance piles increased the load capacity of the existing pile cap by 180 kips (90 tons) thereby allowing the construction of the new hotel and condominiums to proceed.
